In this talk, Steve will present Hoffman’s Interface Theory of Perception, which explains why the world we perceive is not the true reality. He then presents several views of how consciousness may or may not be related to the physical world, especially the weirdness of quantum mechanics. Then drawing upon stories from subjective experience, Steve demonstrates that consciousness can’t be part of the physical world, and therefore can’t be explained by any quantum process. The unity that underlies both the physical world and consciousness can only be seen through the non-dual perception of the heart.
