This year's Festival features the return of the never silent, hilariously thought-provoking, Tony and OBIE award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe with a New Political Satire, “Seeing Red – A Time-Traveling Musical.”
Also: Oakland-based LoCura. They describe their sound as Califas Mestizo Music – rhythms of cumbia, salsa, rumba and flamenco influenced by punk rock, ska, rap, dub, reggae with local and global lyrical themes. With three powerhouse women at the helm, their live shows are a soul-stirring punk-edged party mixing cajon-driven rhythms with mutilingual lyrics.
And: Daniel Ellsberg, Whistleblower, called the “Most Dangerous Man in America” for releasing the Penatagon Papers exposing the Vietnam War, Author of the New book The Doomsday Machine – Confessions of a Nuclear War Planner.
