From one perspective it seems that the human race is more divided than it has ever been. 2020 has given us plenty of examples of humans in conflict and desiring separation from each other in terms of race, gender, generation, tribe, nation and politics. And, of course, the global pandemic has forced much of the world’s population into physical separation and fear of each other too.

Conflict and separation makes the news. But there is an equally large, if not larger portion of the human race whose hearts’ desire care and connection and who wish for greater compassion and togetherness. We are the people who know that our differences and diversities are simply the facets of our unity.
